A delightful and fresh (in every sense of the word) original commissioned pin-up painting by Gil Elvgren for The Brown & Bigelow Calendar Company of Saint Paul, Minnesota. A Marilyn Monroe-esque bombshell applying lipstick cannot help but notice how it does not seem to keep the chap away from her lips... Though Monroe never posed for Elvgren, in 1948, when this was created, Norma Jean was working as a popular artist's model for fellow Brown & Bigelow illustrator Earl Moran. This is a classic and timeless Elvgren original that exudes the coy and playful sexiness that has made the artist the hottest and best selling artist among pin-up collectors and Americana pop culture historians.
