A radiant and pristine original pastel glamour pin-up illustration by Pearl Frush used in the 1945 Gerlach-Barklow calendar line under the title "Lovely as the Dawn".
Above: Framed in beautiful original gold gesso frame with presentation tag

This really shows to great affect what Frush was able to create with her almost photo-realist in technique pastel mastery. This is in it's handsome original presentation frame properly lined behind glass with a verso tag from Robberson Steel Co. of Oklahoma who gifted this pastel in exchange for their advertising.

The Gerlach-Barklow calendar company text on the artist and image reads as follows :"Only a poet like Byron could so fitly describe the sweet young girl here portrayed. Her titian hair, her soft brown eyes, her rosebud mouth and perfect features combine to form an artist's ideal of feminine beauty. Pearl Frush, who created this charming conception of young womanhood, is a native of Iowa, but, grew up on Mississippi's gulf coast. Showing a decided artistic tendency she was first sent to school in New Orleans. Later she studied at the Art Institute in Chicago and Philadelphia. Miss Frush is an outdoor girl, likes to handle a sail boat, paddle a canoe, swim and play tennis. She also plays the piano, can tap dance, and gets a lot of fun out of everything, including her art."
